Farewell Letter

This past episode of DHW hasn’t failed again in the drama and shock.

After finding out of Gaby’s rape as a child, she and Carlos go to Texas to visit her abuser’s grave Carlos feels it will be good closure for her to just let all her anger out at the gravesite.  While on the trip, Gaby is swarmed by the townspeople—coming from such a small town, she was the only one to basically leave and become a celebrity in their eyes when she used to model.  Carlos is angry that she is booking radio interviews and soaking up the fame since it wasn’t the point of the trip.

Gaby is ignoring Carlos by furthermore surrounding herself within the paparazzi.  She is again ignoring the problem she has in front of her and bottling in her emotions, something Carlos is trying to help her with but she isn’t responding.

Keith has mixed emotions about his son.  He tries to convince Bree to move with him to Florida to live closer but Bree refuses.  Ultimately, the two break up and Keith moves to Florida and Bree is left alone on Wisteria Lane.

Bree can almost think now she regrets telling him about his son just because it ruined their relationship.  But at the same time, she has a heart and left it was necessary to risk their relationship for his true happiness.

Lynette is frustrated with her two grown twins, especially the fact they are bringing girls home around their younger siblings.  They tell the parents they got their own place and are fending for themselves.  Low and behold though, they have been staying at the neighbor’s house and having her cook and clean for them—basically they aren’t on their own as they made it seem and Lynette is again mad at the boys.

She is trying to mature her sons to be able to face the world when they eventually do move out and feels it’s a reflection of her mothering if her sons wont ever be able to cook or clean or do their own laundry.

Susan, under Rene’s influence, starts using her dialysis as an excuse to get her way in lines, to avoid waits and restaurants.  At the end of the episode, Susan collapses in a restaurant after being yelled at by a man for using her dialysis as an excuse to cut the line.

Karma ended up biting Susan in the butt.  Using her dialysis to get what she wants worked for a while but then had it consequences when she faints.

Paul is working on getting Zach sober again and decides to send him to a rehab center.  While having much going on in his life right now with his son and trying to figure out who shot him, he ends up kicking Beth out of the house out of suspicion.

Next week, we hope to see if Gaby will ever fully get her closure and follow though with her therapy, how Bree is handling her breakup, what Lynette’s sons are going to end up doing, Susan’s well being and what Beth will do now homeless.

Flashback

And finally, we are back to new episodes of Desperate!  As this is one of my favorite shows, my roommate and I were very excited once 9:00 came around on Sunday night.

Carlos sends Gaby to a psychologist to talk about her doll obsession and why she correlates it to represent her biological daughter, Grace.  She begins to ditch the sessions and has been going to the spa without Carlos knowing.  When he does eventually find out, he convinces her to go and she asks him to assist her.  At her session, we learn that Gaby was molested by her stepfather growing up and that is why she takes such a protective-bone over Grace, whom had fled to Mexico with her family.

As this is new information about Gaby, we can all start to see why she is so obsessed over this doll.  At first it just seems as if Gaby was going crazy about the whole situation but now we can put two-and-two together and it now all makes sense.

Lynette’s mother’s new husband insists on taking a family portrait.  Lynette argued this as inappropriate since they had just gotten married, but her mother convinces her it’d make him happy.  In the midst of taking the photo, he dies right in the living room.  Her mother puts off telling the police about his death until the next morning because of the will and she wouldn’t get her share in the will until the morning.  Lynette is very against this but goes along with it because the mother agrees to pay for the children’s education for the future.

Gaby’s family has always been the rich family—no one else really.  Now that Lynette has money raises a suspicion as to what is going to happen next because the Scavo’s just aren’t people to flaunt around money, especially so suddenly.

At the hospital, Susan meets an old high school classmate and after they start talking, he offers her his kidney.  The two begin to hang out as friends up until the surgery since he is being so generous, but we then learn of an obsession he had of Susan since high school and never let go. (He gives her a scrapbook of pictures he took of her for the yearbook)  She confronts him about how she cannot be in a relationship with him after the surgery because she is married and he then tells her he cannot give her his kidney.

Susan is devastated at this but she is also left in a sticky situation.  She has a very generous man offering her a kidney, four years in advance, but he is expecting a relationship between the two of them at the end and she just cannot do that with Mike and MJ, and the fact that he basically stalked her all of high school.

Bree continues to try to keep his son a secret from Keith.  In a strange run-in at an arcade where Bree is briefly watching the child while giving the mother the child support, Keith starts to play arcade games with him and Bree sees how happy and great he is with the child.  At the end of the episode, Bree tells Keith that he was his son.

This is very hard of Bree to do because she knows how devastating it is for Keith not to have children with her because of her age.  But at the arcade, she sees how good he is with the child and she cannot be selfish anymore and sacrifices their relationship for his happiness of knowing about his son.

Paul seeks Mike’s help to look for Zack, Paul’s adopted son but Mike’s real son with another woman.  The gun that Paul was shot with was familiar to him because his son owned it.  When Mike and Paul finally come to peace, they visit Zack and see he is addicted to drugs and is throwing his life away.

Aside from his son potentially being the one who killed him, Paul realizes his son needs help and him and Mike come to their differences in order to help their son since he is obviously and for some reason going through a very difficult time in his life.

Next week, this is what I hope to see.  We will hopefully see more into Gaby’s past and how this is relating to her obsession with her Grace doll.  Lynette’s family may be at some risk because of their new money.  When the police take the body, they may perform an autopsy and see that they lied about the death time and could potentially put their family into danger.  Susan may approach the man for a compromise for his kidney since it probably won’t be for another four years until she gets a donor.  Keith hopefully will maintain a balance between his son and still staying with Bree by having him on the weekends or such, just so Keith will be able to stay with Bree and still have a child in his life like he’s always dreamt of.   And every situation including Zack is always interesting and unpredictable so all I can hope for next week is that something exciting happens with Zack since he is back in the picture.

Super Bowl 2011

Well I figured, since this past Sunday was the ever-famous Super Bowl Sunday between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers, I’d make this post about that instead.  Luckily, this was the last week of the repeat episodes of Desperate Housewives and this coming Sunday will pick up off from my first post and we’ll be back and running with new and exciting episodes.

As none of the two teams playing in this year’s Super Bowl were teams I could really care less about, I just watched it this year for the social aspect of being with friends and for the commercials.  Like many others, the Doritos commercials are always my favorite but it stinks that only one of them will make it to the Super Bowl.  I searched into the other potential Super Bowl 2011 Doritos ads and figured I’d post the top three in my eyes for everyone’s entertainment.

#3:

#2 is very close to being my favorite ad next to #1:

And the one that made it to the Super Bowl 2011, #1:

So again, next week will continue the new episodes of Desperate Housewives, leaving off from my first post—“I’m Still Here.”  Maybe skim through it quick as a refresher for next week’s new episode.

Truly Content

I apologize again to everyone that these are repeat episodes but I promise only this and one more post will be repeats and then we’ll be back to the continuation of the series.  This past episode on DHW, it is filled with nothing but sneaky actions, confusion, competition, accusations and mysteries.

To deal with his depression, a doctor prescribes Tom marijuana to help keep him happy.  Lynette is mad that her husband thinks the only way to make him more cheerful and happy is through the drug, so she exchanges the marijuana with oregano.  Tom still thinks he’s smoking marijuana but when Carlos is over, he smells it and tells him that it’s oregano.  He becomes angry with Lynette but she tells him all this time, he didn’t need the drug to be happy since he was just using oregano.

Again, we see Lynette trying to help her husband with his problems, as last week he found comfort in Rene, which made her very upset.  We see Lynette’s efforts in being a better wife to Tom and she is slowly, but surely making progress.

Gabby and Carlos sign papers at the hospital agreeing to not sue the hospital and that they are aware there is nothing the hospital can do to find their biological daughter.  Gabby becomes crazy over the idea of not ever seeing her own daughter so she convinces Bob to hire a private detective to find the family with their daughter without Carlos’s consent.  When Bob tells them that he found the family, Gabby is thrilled while Carlos is furious with Gabby going behind his back and threatens to divorce her if she keeps up the behavior.

Gabby cannot get the idea out of her head that she doesn’t have her biological daughter and that she will never have the opportunity to ever meet her daughter.  As much as she loves Juanita, she can’t get over that fact and is angry that Carlos will not back her up in her desire to meet her daughter.

Bree finds out that her handy worker Keith has a girlfriend and goes on a girl’s not out at a bar with Rene.  The women soon see that Keith is at the bar, alone, and Rene, as sneaky as she knows Bree’s feelings, approaches him and starts flirting with him.  She finds out that his girlfriend just dumped him and he ends up bringing Rene home, which makes Bree furious.  Bree decides to get competitive and breaks her sprinkler system and calls Keith over right away to fix it, and this becomes a slight war between the two women.

Now we usually don’t see this side of Bree, the sneakiness and the competitiveness but its something different and intriguing to see.  They are both two older women going for a much younger man but as Rene has the looks and moves to reel Keith in, we will see what Bree now has to offer to take him away.

Susan is still doing her cleaning website but it takes a wrong turn when another woman copies Susan’s routine and is bringing her viewers down, hence less money.  So she acts out by going to the woman’s house and confronting her, which almost loses both the women their jobs.
Susan is trying so hard to keep their marriage alive by doing work she doesn’t even approve of nor can she tell anyone about it.  As the season progresses, we will see the decisions she makes as to this job.

The housewives invite Beth, Paul’s new wife, over for tea and try to find out as much as they can about him now.  With the poor things the women have to say about Paul, Beth asks around the neighborhood herself about her husband and learns he was the number one suspect for a murder and how the whole neighborhood despises him for it.

Beth starts to question her intentions of staying with a man so hated on Wisteria Lane and if she should get herself out of the situation.

Next week, we will see if there is continuous progression between Tom and Lynette, will Gabby still work with Bob in now contacting the family with her daughter, who will win over the heart of Keith the handy man, will Susan continue this job or tell Mike about it, and what will Beth do with Paul Young?  Stay tuned until next week to find out the answers to these questions.
